Rainy Day W/ Mr. Nice Guy Part 7
"Wow."

"That's it? Wow?"

"I'm just... in shock," Angie said, pouring maple syrup over her stack of pancakes. We were at our favorite after-finals breakfast place, in a back booth where no one would hear our conversation. "So you just bumped into him on the street. And now here you are. Wow."

I laughed. It astounded me too.

"So it's been like three months. That's pretty serious. Do his friends know? Or is it just a huge secret?"

"I think he's told a couple of them. They're celebrities too, used to having to keep their love lives under wraps." I managed to stuff a bite of waffle and strawberry in my mouth between her questions.

"Doesn't it bother you not having it out in the open and not being able to tell anyone?"

"Well I got to tell you didn't I? I understand, his career is important too, things are different over there. We both have lives, so I guess it's alright."

"Huh." Angie took a gulp of her coffee. "This is like the most relaxed I've ever seen you with a guy. Which is weird, because he's intimidating. Oh gosh, now I feel like we're in 'Twilight' or something."

I laughed. "Intimidating?" I asked, thinking of how easy it was to talk to him with his easygoing laugh. Then I remembered my sudden inability to speak when he came to collect his phone under the bridge... "Oh. Well..."

"Anyway, I approve," she cut in. "This is even better than Todd and I only met your new beau for two minutes."

"Oh god, Todd? Let's not talk about him..."

"I can't believe you dated that pretentious, beanie-wearing tortured-soul artist--"

"I have a thing for musicians, okay?"

"Obviously," she said, grinning and pointedly stabbing another piece of pancake. "Does he sing in the shower too?"

"Psh, I wouldn't know."

"No? You guys don't, you know..." She raised her eyebrows at me.

"Angie!" I blushed quite a bit, focusing on cutting my waffle into very precise bites.

"Oh Kate. So innocent." I mimed stabbing her with my fork, and she laughed.

That night, Siwon and I were miraculously both free for the whole afternoon and evening. I felt a bit bad for him; between our late night Chinese food and his early morning film schedule, he hadn't gotten much sleep the night before.

I got dolled up, donning my favorite black blouse, best-fitting jeans, new shoes, and dangly cross earrings my mom had given me, and we headed off to try a new restaurant he had heard about.

When we pulled up in his car, he let the valet take the keys before opening my door for me, offering his hand.

"What a gentleman," I said, thanking him.

"I have to keep up the image," he said with a wink.

The restaurant was swanky by my college-kid standards, with low lighting, a sleek, modern vibe, and lounge music playing in the background. It was a little on the loud side, and with my soft-spokenness, we had to lean in close just to hear each other clearly. As we ate and chatted, I felt myself being drawn in even deeper into our own little bubble. I could feel the heat radiating from him in our close quarters, and when we shared a dessert and I got chocolate sauce on my lip, he wiped it off with his thumb. Every touch--the graze of his hand against mine, the accidental nudge of his knee under the table--seemed suddenly very poignant after my conversation with Angie.

Siwon took my hand as we left. Usually we didn't show much affection in public just in case, but with the energy thick between us, it was hard not to.

After handing the keys to the valet, he pulled me to his chest, his arm tight around my waist as he left a firm, long kiss on my mouth. We only stepped when the car arrived.

The whole ride home, Angie's words bounced around in my head. She and Dave had been together forever, and she spared no detail in filling me in on her love life. But Siwon and I... Ugh why had she mentioned it? Now it was all I could think about.

We pulled up to my apartment, and he leaned in for another kiss. I figured he would just drop me off after dinner, but something made me ask, "Do you want to come up?"

I tried to act nonchalant as we walked up the stairs and down my hall, but I could feel my hands shaking a bit out of nervousness as I turned the key in my door. Once we were inside, I said, "Make yourself comfortable, I'll be right back," and scurried into the bathroom.

I quickly brushed my hair, took an extra swig of mouthwash, dabbed a dot of perfume behind my ears, and gave myself a little pep-talk. Then, when I realized my nerves were getting the better of me, I called Angie.

"Hello?"

"Angie. It's me. I'm with Siwon."

"...Then *why* are we talking?'

"I'm in the bathroom. He's outside, waiting. Dinner was really intense, with this pounding music and this leaning close and then the kissing and now I think..."

"Oh my goodness. Kate, go outside!"

"But... I... Angie?"

"Take a deep breath," she told me. I complied. "You are awesome, smart, sexy, etc., now get out there!"

Her words gave me a jolt of enthusiasm that I needed, and I threw the door open with gusto... to see no one in the living room.

"Siwon?"

Then I saw him sprawled out on the sofa sound asleep. I couldn't help but chuckle under my breath that all my worrying had been for nothing. He looked so sweet lying there that all I could do was take the extra blanket from my room and drape it over him.

As I washed up, I found myself looking out at the sleeping figure on my couch. He really was always working hard on whatever project he had going on. I wondered how much sleep he had been getting lately. I debated slipping into one of the flintier nightgowns I'd picked up at Victoria's Secret, then opted for a t-shirt from poetry club and Pink boxers.

I dragged my pillow and quilt out to the living room and camped out beside him. As I turned out the light, I snuck one last glance at him and kissed him softly on the forehead.
____________
Ugh, my back hurt. Since when was my bed so uncomfortable? It seemed way too early to be getting up on a weekend, so I rolled over and buried my head in the covers.

Then, I heard the sound of water running in my bathroom, and I shot up. Siwon was in my apartment. Siwon had spent the night.

I quickly grabbed my bag. I pulled out my comb and dragged it through my hair, dabbed on chapstick, and popped a mint. Siwon was still in the bathroom, so I hopped up and started fixing coffee in the kitchen. I never used to drink it before I met him, but now he had me as addicted as he was.

I heard the bathroom door open behind me, and I turned to see a grinning Siwon leaning against doorframe, shirtless, with my spare toothbrush hanging out of his mouth. I felt the bag of coffee grounds slip from my fingers, then managed to catch it.

"M..Morning," I managed, quite distracted by the gorgeous man standing in front of me. He ducked back into the bathroom and I heard the water run again, so I turned back to my coffee. I had just poured in the water when I felt his arms wrap around my waist and his chin rest on my shoulder.

"Good morning," he said, kissing my cheek. "How'd you sleep?"

"Quite well. You?"

"The same. Sorry for passing out on you like that. And then when I saw you on the floor this morning, I felt bad that I took the couch..."

"Hey, I don't know how you get any sleep on your schedule, so I was fine." I passed him his coffee, and we curled up together on the window seat, looking out at the rain. It was so peaceful there, from the warmth of the coffee, the comfort of Siwon's arms, and the pitter-patter sound of rain, that I almost drifted off to sleep again.

"Thank you," he said softly.

"Hm? For what?"

"For putting up with the secrecy and everything to be with me. I love what I do, but there is so little privacy sometimes... You're my escape from the world, the one person who understands..."

"I know just what you mean," I said, leaving a small kiss on his hand. "I feel the same way." And we spent that morning talking about all sorts of things that neither of us had confided in anyone before, laughing sometimes, serious other times, and just sharing everything with each other.

A few days later, after after slogging through a particularly difficult chem test, I headed out of the classroom and ran right into Angie.

"Hey Angie. What's up?"

"Kate... We've got a problem."

5. Star In A Drama With - Lee Min Ho
Number 5 for the 20 Korean Guys Challenge, the guy I would want to star in a drama with, Lee Min Ho!

http://www.polyvore.com/20_korean_guys_challenge/group.show?id=125948

Not only is Min Ho a really great actor (BOF, amazing!), he is also one of the most attractive men... Haha just look at his profile (and, alright alright his mouth :P) he's gorgeous! I like dramas when the girl is strong-hearted and resists the guy, but eventually realizes that she has room for love too! So I think it would be a lot like Oh My Lady or BOF!

I would love to perform with TaeYang! I like his gangster bad-boy look, it would be fun to dress up like that! Maybe he could teach me some dance moves and I could rap a little. I feel like although he can be all gangster, he would be funny and patient to learn moves from!
3. Used to Dislike But Now Love, T.O.P.
Number 3 for 20 Korean Guys Challenge, the guy I used to not like but now do, T.O.P.!

When I first saw him, I thought he was kind of scary and intimidating, and I didn't really like his white hair look... But now I listen to Big Bang more, and he's grown on me a bit! He seems like a softie on the inside to me, haha. ^_^

Number 2 for the 20 Korean Guys Challenge, my obsession Siwon...

No surprises here, eh? ;)
I first became a bit obsessed just 'cause he's so handsome... But as I watched SuJu interviews and things like that, I saw that he was so caring, polite, romantic... He was amazing in Oh! My Lady and Athena, and I can't wait for Skip Beat.
Just heard the news about his grandmother... Will pray for him, his family, and his grandmother's swift ascent to heaven. God bless, Siwon!

He is definitely one of the best singers in SuJu, if not the best, and he has such an amazing smile! My friend says I'm obsessed with smiles, but he just has really nice lips, you know?? Anyways, my first Korean crush, Kyuhyun!

Rainy Day W/ Mr. Nice Guy - Part 6
I really want to know the winners of this contest! Hopefully they'll come out soon. Love these shoes ^_^ Anyways I'm very proud of this installment : ) Enjoy~
-------------------
I had always been one to fall hard, but this time I took it to a whole new level. For the next few weeks after that afternoon in the park, things were wonderful and I was floating on cloud nine. I was constantly thanking God and my lucky stars that a man like him had literally stumbled into my life. Siwon and I spent every spare second that we had together, whenever I wasn't in class and he got time off from filming his drama.

With him, it was just so easy. With some of my past relationships, I had always been second-guessing my actions and carefully watching my words, enjoying myself but never fully feeling comfortable. But with Siwon, it was like letting out a breath that I didn't even know I had been holding. Going out to dinner or a movie was fun, but the time I treasured most was hanging out, just us, at one of our apartments. When we were sprawled out on the couch, my head in his lap, I was blissfully happy looking up at the breathtakingly handsome and wonderful man who I couldn't believe was sitting there, smiling down at me and stroking my hair.

One day at school, my friend Angie and I were working on a chem lab together when she stopped and turned to me.

"So when am I going to meet this mystery man?"

I blushed, and managed un-convincingly, "I, um, don't know what you're talking about." Angie and I had been great friends ever since we arrived to the university two and a half years ago, and with her steady boyfriend Dave and their lack of drama, she loved to serve as guru to my love life. I had been keeping the secret from everyone for a while as I was dating a public figure and all. I did feel bad for not telling her, but I didn't want to put him in danger of the tabloids.

"Oh please. I know how you get, and right now your face is as red as a tomato. So confide in your best friend and tell her everything."

"Alright, alright... I'm... seeing someone."

"Ooh, I knew it! Is he devilishly handsome?" she asked theatrically, elbowing me in the ribs.

"Yes," I said, swooning a bit at the memory of the kiss he left me with over the weekend. "He's just so wonderful to be around, you know? He's so funny, sweet, everything I would want in a guy. You know my list, and he checks all the boxes... I just love spending time with him."

"Wow. You've got it bad."

"I know. Now pass me the sodium chloride." But I didn't get off that easily. While I added it to our flask, she sneakily swiped my phone from my purse and started going through the contacts, searching for a new name. "Hey!" I managed to snatch it from her before she reached the "S" section, laughing.

"It was worth a shot," she said, laughing too.

"I'll tell you when the time is right," I said. "I know that sounds mysterious... But you'll have to be patient."

She scowled, and we went back to work. "Hey, you changed the background of your phone to a picture of us, that's cute. Didn't it use to be that Japanese actor?"

"Korean. And yeah."

"Oh that's right. What's his name again?"

"Choi Siwon..." I blushed again, managing to hide it as I checked the flame on our bunson burner.

That night, I was curled up on the couch in my jeans and chunky knit top, catching up on some psychology reading that I had been neglecting. I was trying hard not to daydream, but between thoughts of Siwon (who wasn't here tonight because he always worked late on Fridays) and my stomach growling (my takeout order from my favorite Chinese place still hadn't arrived), the one chapter I had left felt like an eternity. Just as the doorbell rang, I finally turned the last page. I threw my highlighter down in triumph and threw open the door.

There was a man holding my takeout standing in the hallway, just not the one I expected to see.

"So the acting career didn't work out for you?" I said, smiling up into Siwon's gorgeous eyes.

"It's a tough field." He winked, stepping inside. "I got off from work early, then caught the guy on the way up and couldn't pass up a surprise visit. Are you busy?"

"Just finished up." I gave him a peck on the cheek before he plunked the bag down on the coffee table in the family room, then stretched out on the floor, leaning up against the couch. I popped into the kitchen to grab napkins.

"You're lucky I wanted leftovers," I called over my shoulder, looking at our little feast. For a man who was so fit, he sure ate a lot.

"Psh, wIth my chopstick finesse, I could have eaten it all before you would have had a bite." I was working on my chopstick usage, but was still a bit clumsy. Still, I was better than when he had laughed at my feeble attempts a month ago.

"Hey. I'm Asian on the inside, even if my hand-eye coordination doesn't know it yet." I leaned over him to put the napkins on the table when he tugged me into his lap and pulled me in for a kiss.

It started out soft and sweet, but soon grew deeper. Our mouths opened, and I felt his hands slip below my shirt. I wound my arms around his neck, hands knotting in his hair. His fingers traced the top of my jeans, then followed a seam down the outside of my thigh. I slid my hands down his chest as he softly brushed the bare skin on my lower back, causing me to shiver.

Suddenly I found myself lying on my back on the carpet, Siwon atop me and kissing me even more urgently than before. My hands roamed up his back, pulling his shirt up a bit. Just as things were getting really good, I heard a knock on my door. I managed to pull away a bit, saying a little out of breath, "I should probably get that." His lips moved to my neck, and my will grew fainter. "Probably... Maybe not... Nah."

He sat up, grinning, as the door bell rang. "Now I know your weak spot." I managed a faux punch before I headed to the door. I pulled it open a little to see Angie standing in the hall.

"Hey! So Dave and I were having dinner with his parents tonight, and on the way back we stopped to gas and I saw this magazine. I had to get it for you since you changed your phone background in favor of you and me." She smiled broadly, holding out a magazine with-- you guessed it-- Siwon on the cover. "What's up with you? Your hair looks all... Oh. OOOOH." She mouthed, "He's here, isn't he?" and I nodded, both of us grinning like idiots. She whispered, "I'll give it to you tomorrow then," and slipped the magazine into her purse just as Siwon walked to the door and pulled it all the way open.

To say her jaw dropped would have been quite the understatement. Her eyes got even bigger and then gave me a very pointed look. With both of our hair and clothes in the state we were in, it was obvious what she had interrupted.

"Angie, right? I've heard a lot about you," Siwon said, extending a gentlemanly hand.

"I could say the same," she said, giving me another look of disbelief. "Nice to meet you. Anyways. Dave's waiting in the car, I'm gonna go now... I'll, uh, see you tomorrow, Kate?"

"Sure. Our usual breakfast place."

"Cool. Bye then," she said, waving and heading down the hall.

I shut the door, relieved that I had dodged the magazine issue once again, before Siwon pinned me against it.

"Now, where were we?"

Rainy Day W/ Mr. Nice Guy Part 5
trying a more minimalist look with this set. what do you think? i kinda like it...
--------------

...and he kissed me. I felt myself getting lost in the moment, running a hand through his hair as we shared a sweet, soft kiss in that balmy afternoon. He pulled me closer to him as the kiss deepened before he suddenly pulled back.

"Oh, wow, I am so sorry."

"What?" I asked, admittedly somewhat breathlessly. I was on a bit of an emotional high and definitely did not understand his apology. All I could hear was the thumping of my heart and the little voice in my head cheering that I had just kissed Choi Siwon.

He sat up, running his fingers through his hair (just like I had done-- oh my gosh I just kissed Choi Siwon) and turned to me. "I try to be a gentleman. And I wouldn't want to take advantage of you, I'm sorry. It was just-- I don't know. I got caught up in the moment, and I apologize for kissing you like that. I mean, this isn't like me--"

"Siwon? Siwon, it's okay." I tried stifle my laughter. How could he apologize for that? I was feeling pretty good about the whole situation. The birds were chirping sweeter, the sun was shining brighter... Or was that just me? Plus, wasn't he supposed to be the romantic one in SuJu? "I don't think my feminine virtues or anything are harmed, it's all good."

He nodded, but I could tell our beautiful little afternoon was over. "Could I drive you home?"

I sighed. "That'd be great, thanks."

The drive was a little awkward, with stilted small talk about the unusually warm weather, but we finally arrived at my apartment. He insisted on walking me up, so we headed up the stairs together to my door. I leaned back on it, quite pleased that he was standing in the little landing of my- my!- building.

"So... I'll see you around?" I said.

"See you around. I had a good time today," he said. He gave a sort of bow-nod, and started walking down the hall.

I let myself in with mixed emotions. The conversation had been so easy and funny, and the kiss... But I had no idea what would happen with him now with the awkwardness of the aftermath.

I peeled off my fancy dress from the morning and kicked off my heels, switching into my comfiest old holey jeans, my "artistic" shirt, and took out my contacts in favor of glasses. I grabbed my notebook and pen and curled up on the cushions on the window seat. Inspired by all the events of the day, from brunch with Grandma to being stranded in the woods to a lovely picnic in the park with quite an interesting man, I started sketching.

Soon, the page was filled, with teacups, magazines with the pages aflutter, an old fashioned diner serving burgers and fries, a couple drinking from a milkshake with two straws, the patterns of the leaves on the trees in the park... A poem was even starting to form in the margins.

I was halfway through the second page when I heard a knock at my door. I tossed my sketchbook aside and opened the door to see Siwon leaning against the doorframe looking very confident, smiling a heart-stopping devilish smile.

"I was wondering," he said, meeting my gaze with a look that definitely made my breath hitch a little, "if you'd like to go to dinner with me tomorrow night."

"S-sure." I managed.

"Great, I'll see you here at 7:30." He stepped toward me so close that I felt his breath lightly ruffle my hair before he left me a lingering kiss on the cheek. And with that, he was strolling down the hall, leaving me to shakily clutch the doorframe for support.
